What is the difference between “Avery House B&B” and “Avery’s Inn Next Door”?
Avery House B&B is a traditional bed and breakfast experience. It offers four suites and two rooms; the nightly rate includes breakfast each morning. We built Avery’s Inn Next Door to appeal to a different type of guest – those who prefer more flexibility, without the communal breakfast each morning. It has four luxurious suites. Breakfast is not included as part of the offering for guests at the Inn (unless by special request, for an additional charge).TOP
Where are you located?
Avery’s Inn Next Door is at 336 Ontario Street, located within walking distance of all the theatres, restaurants and shopping. There is a helpful map on our website here.TOP
What is the best way to book with you?
We strongly recommend online bookings, as guests then receive an immediate confirmation which they can review to make sure that dates, room selection, and all the other details are correct. In addition, while we try to answer the phone each day from 10am-6pm, we are not always successful, and by the time we return a voice message, or an email, a guest’s preferred dates may have become booked by someone else online.  A large button appears at the top of this page, "Click here to book."TOP
What amenities are in each Suite?
All four Suites at Avery’s Inn Next Door have the following features: king bed (convert to two twins in some cases), an ensuite bathroom, flat-screen TV, indoor and outdoor seating areas, kitchenette (Keurig coffee-maker, microwave oven) and come supplied with coffee, tea, milk, cream, sugar/sweeteners, cups, glasses, cutlery, and plateware. What does “ensuite bathroom” mean?
All of the Suites at our Inn have ensuite bathrooms, which means the bathroom is physically located within the suite, and is not shared with any other guests.TOP
How many guests can stay in each suite?
Rates for each Suite are based on two-person occupancy. We can also host a third guest in each Suite, on the fold-out couch, for an additional charge. However, please not that if you use the fold-out couch option, the indoor seating area will be considerably smaller.TOP
What forms of payment do you accept?
  • For our Canadian guests, we are happy to accept: Visa, Discover, cash, cheques, debit/Interac and e-transfers.
  • For our American guests, we are happy to accept: Visa, Discover, cash, and checks. US cash and checks will be converted to Canadian dollars at the same exchange rate that our bank gives us.
Please note that we do NOT accept MasterCard nor American Express. TOP
I don’t have a Visa or Discover card. How can I make a reservation?
If you don’t have a Visa or Discover card, we can still take your reservation. Just send us an email with your name, address, phone number, arrival/departure dates, and room selection. We’ll get back to you shortly to confirm your details, and will request a deposit as follows:
  • For Canadian guests: you can drop a cheque in the mail, or send us an e-transfer.
  • For US guests: you can drop a check in the mail (we give the same exchange rate our bank give us).

What do you request for a deposit?
We ask for 50% of the total amount (including HST) at the time that you make your reservation. The remaining 50% will be due at the end of your stay with us. For those rare one-night only stays, we request the full amount, including HST.TOP
What is your cancellation policy?
If you cancel your stay for whatever reason 21+ days prior to your arrival date, we will happily refund your full deposit, without penalty. With less than 21 days’ notice, your deposit will be forfeited.TOP
Can I book for a group of us that are visiting Stratford together?
Of course! We love hosting groups of friends and “whole house parties”! When we confirm your reservation, we will ask for the email address(es) of othersin your group so that we can confirm the details (arrival times, etc.) with each guest directly.TOP
Can I buy a gift certificate?
Yes! We’re happy to issue a gift certificate for any dollar amount, and upon payment we will send a PDF file via email suitable for gift-giving. We just ask for the recipients’ names so that we are able to assist when they book their visit with us. Gift certificates are not redeemable for cash, but any unused balance does not expire.TOP
What are check-in/check-out times?
  • Check-in time is 3:30-6pm. Please, no arrivals after 6pm.
  • Check-out time is 10:30am.

Can I arrive early?
Guests are welcome to come and park here at the Inn any time after 12 noon on the day of arrival. However, rooms/suites will not be ready until our regular check-in time of 3:30-6:00pm. Also, please note that we do not have bathroom facilities for those who arrive early, so a pit-stop enroute is recommended!TOP
Can I request a late check-out?
Please feel free to request a later check-out time prior to your arrival, and we will do our best to accommodate. However, please understand that we may not be in a position to agree, depending on that day’s schedule. We cannot honour requests for a late check-out made on the day of departure.  A late check-out charge will apply.TOP
Can I stay for just one night?
During the off-season (roughly November-mid-May each year) we are happy to accept one-night only bookings at the Inn. During the Festival season (mid-May through late October), we take one-night only stays on Sundays and Mondays. On most other days of the week of the peak season, we have a two-night minimum policy for each suite, unless there is a “hole” on our calendar, or last-minute cancellation. When you hit the “click here to book” button above, and enter your date, any options for a one-night only stay will appear. There is no additional charge for a one-night stay, if we have availability. TOP
Is breakfast available at the Inn?
We designed the Inn for those guests who preferred more flexibility in their schedule, and wanted to skip the communal breakfast experience. Therefore, breakfast is not part of the offering. However, occasionally we do get requests from guests staying at the Inn to join us at our B&B next door for breakfast. If this is of interest, please let us know when you make your reservation. Please understand that we are limited by the number of seats at our breakfast table, and so we follow a “first requested, first reserved” approach for Inn guests. There is an additional charge of $15 + HST  per person per breakfast for Inn guests joining us at the B&B. If being assured of breakfast is important to you, we'd suggest that you stay at our B&B instead.TOP
Is there parking available?
Yes. We have free parking on-site for one vehicle per guest room/suite. However, more than one vehicle per guest room will need to find parking elsewhere.TOP
Do you have Wifi?
Yes. We have free Wifi throughout the property, with multiple “routers” to insure a good signal wherever you may wander on-site. TOP
Can I bring my child?
We are happy to host mature children over the age of 12, with an accompanying adult.TOP
Can I smoke?
Smoking is strictly prohibited in all indoor spaces. Smoking in a guest room, suite or common area will result in an additional cleaning fee to remove the odour. Guests are welcome to smoke on the outdoor spaces – please ask us for an ashtray, and be sensitive to other non-smoking guests.TOP

Can you help with restaurant suggestions/dinner reservations?
Yes! We keep a collection of menus from the most highly-regarded restaurants here for guests to peruse. We’re also happy to help with recommendations and reservations. We do suggest reservations for dinner if you have an evening performance. During the busy season, we recommend having your dinner plans sorted well in advance of your arrival. What is your newsletter about?
We publish an “email newsletter” about three or four times a year, with news that we think is of interest to our new and returning guests. Our Spring edition covers restaurant recommendations and “early buzz” about the upcoming season. In June we send an “Opening Week Review” summary of the critics’ opinions of the plays.
